(at Sport Fishing Karumba we like to practise sustainable fishing, so we don’t keep everything we catch. I am happy to keep a couple of fish for you to take home. All Barra over 80cm are released.)
FULL DAY BARRAMUNDI FISHING
So you want to catch a barramundi? The mighty barramundi is one of Australia's most iconic sport fish, celebrated for its tenacity and remarkable acrobatics. Many anglers aspire to join the exclusive meter club, and we offer a range of fishing options to pursue this magnificent fish. We collaborate with you to plan the ideal day based the weather, and the season.
To target Barra you need a full day as they do require specialised fishing. We may need to travel further a field to find the bite. This is also true during the cooler weather when it can be a bit harder to rouse them. The full day allows the time needed to tempt these fish into the boat.
The prime time to chase Barramundi is in the warmer months from Feb - May & Late Aug - October. While they are around all year during the cooler months they take a bit more persistence to raise them.
While we primarily specialise in the exhilarating experience of Barramundi fishing, we also extend the option of half-day bait fishing charters, provided there are no prior full-day or multi-day bookings.
Our charter services cater to everyone, from those taking their first steps into the world of fishing to seasoned experts. Our guide is dedicated to providing the necessary support and guidance to ensure that every individual's experience is both rewarding and enjoyable.
If you find yourself without a fishing rod, fret not. We supply all the necessary fishing gear, allowing you to focus solely on bringing your personal essentials. As proud partners of Shimano Fishing, we are equipped with high-quality tackle. Nonetheless, if you are particularly attached to your own fishing gear, you are more than welcome to bring it with you.
Can we keep everything we catch?
We like to promote responsible fishing by practising catch and release, but we are happy if you would like to keep a few fish. Recreational bag limits do apply.
What's Included
- Full-day fishing charters - departing 6:45am from the Gilbert Street boat ramp.
- Half-Day fishing charters - departing either 6:45am or 11:45am from the Gilbert Street boat ramp.
- All fishing gear is supplied on a replace if lost or broken basis, or you are welcome to bring your own.
- Water, soft drinks & light snacks (Lunch is provided on full-day charters)
- The Charter is tailored to suit weather conditions and seasons.
